    As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

    Before receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, the President of the United States, Barack Obama, spoke in news conference in Oslo and reduced the status of the award compared to his role: "If I fail as president, all the awards in the world will not cover that up." About the criticism of his being chosen for the Prize he said: “When I succeed in my role all the criticism will disappear.”

    Commenting on the trial underway in Munich of John Demjanjuk, for the crimes he committed against the Jewish people in Sobibor, the veteran chareidi askan, Rabbi Menachem Porush, said in an interview with "Etrog": "Am Yisrael in Israel and throughout the world are waiting for the day when we can make the blessing, 'Baruch she'pataranu' on John Demjanjuk."

    During a televised Presidential speech before the people of Iran, President Ahmad Ahmadinejad finally revealed his true face: "We are not obligated to report to the IAEA about our nuclear plants," he said, and added, "We will hold no more talks over this issue. There is no need for talks."
